What We Do
The HeArt Centre is a local voluntary run non-profit community project started in 2003. Over time it has grown to become an education & arts centre serving a diverse and vibrant community. The HeArt Centre aims to provide a stimulating environment to educate, bring people of different cultures & faiths together and to be a place of fun, learning and exchange for all. It has created a place of peaceful retreat from the stresses of daily life. Through its wide range of activities, the HeArt Centre hopes to address & alleviate the needs and concerns of all who visit and participate. We all share an element of social responsibility, and The HeArt Centre works tirelessly to improve conditions in a primarily deprived area of Birmingham. Many of our events & initiatives are free to access for all. We run on a solely voluntary basis and rely entirely on the generosity and charity of others.
Weekly Dhikr
A weekly gathering of the remembrance of Allah initiated by Shaykh Nazim (Q). A practice of the Naqshbandi order called Khatum-e-Khwajagan. The aim is to nourish the mind, body and spirit through the invocation of The Divine. An uplifting and meditative experience. A moment of peace in our hectic lives. A family-based activity for all ages and backgrounds.
Digital Devotional Gathering
Due to Covid-19 pandemic, The HeArt Centre is closed at present. Gatherings are currently taking place four times a week on the digital platforms linked in this site. We aim to keep the community connected, engaged and inspired to maintain positive mental health and well being, at a time when we all have to self-isolate.
